Diamond Air is better known for installing Mitsubishi heat pumps for its Bay of Plenty customers, however, we are perfectly well placed to supply and install other major brands of heat pump. For this property in Papamoa, the owner selected Daikin as their heat pump unit of choice.
Daikin is a good quality brand of heat pump; they are quiet and efficient and offer a contemporary design.
We piped it under the house and located the outdoor unit around the corner in the garden so that it was not the first thing that you saw as you drove in the driveway. The customer is delighted with this option, having the outdoor unit out of sight.
This Daikin 6KW unit was a higher capacity than what was needed for this small lounge and small house but in my opinion, it’s better to be a bit bigger than too small, as the compressor and unit will not have to work as hard to heat/cool the room.
The installation was wired back to the main switch board on its own circuit breaker, so that it didn’t affect the other power point circuits in the house.
