This aging LG aircon unit kept slipping into fault mode

In the true spirit of fashion, this commercial air conditioning installation was a case of out with the old and in with the new! We were originally called to a commercial property in Papamoa's Fashion Island shopping complex, just as the very hot summer days rolled in, to inspect an ageing LG air conditioner which had stopped working.

Located in the businesses boardroom, the LG air conditioner kept running into fault mode, showing an error code on the front indoor panel. Resetting the power seemed to work for a while, but then it kept having to be reset more and more frequently until eventually, it stopped working altogether.

Due to its age, brand, cost of repair and the necessity to have a reliable air conditioner, the decision was made to replace the air conditioner.

The outdoor unit was installed on the roof so a hiab was used to lift the Mitsubishi MSZ-GL60VGD condenser onto the roof and bring down the old faulty LG outdoor unit. This operation was performed early in the morning to minimise the impact on shoppers.

With the unit safely lifted onto the roof, we proceeded to install the outdoor and indoor aircon units. And not a moment too soon - on one of the hottest days of the year to date the staff once again were able to enjoy a cool working environment. The need was urgent given that the building doesn’t have opening windows to allow for any breeze.

The office staff now have a reliable Mitsubishi air conditioner to keep them cool in summer and warm when winter inevitably rolls around again.
